This is a well written book that both teachers and students both love. It is perfect complement to the study of early colonial history. My 10 year old daughter loved this book and the other 2 books that follow this book (this book is the first of a three book seriers). All are wonderful!

I got this book for my historical fiction-loving daughter. She is 8. She liked it a lot and eagerly awaits the next book. She rated it a 4 1/2 out of 5. She says the author made her feel like she was in it. I didn't read it myself, so I can't comment.

This book had excellent historical content and was very interesting. I read it to my son when he was 7 and that was a little young. I would recommend this for ages 9 and up. I loved the story and was anxious to read it aloud because I wanted to know what was going to happen next! This is a great home school resource and is set in 1587 on the ship of Sir Walter Ralegh.
