For my money, Kelly Link is the best American short story writer alive. Her creative and singular brand of speculative fiction leaves me literally breathless. The title story of this particular collection is mind-blowingly good. The fact that she isn't better known is shameful.

Strange, wonderful stories about zombies, magic, witches and more. Often humorous and modern; not your typical âsci fiâ or âhorrorâ or âfantasyâ stories. The author creates very specific and involving worlds. My only real complaint is that the stories endâ¦I wanted more, more, more!
I enjoyed this collection of short stories in which the odd and familiar live side by side. Some of my favorite stories were "Catskin" and "Magic for Beginners."
Great book. Awesome storyteller.
Short story collection like that of picking one or two chocolates out of a box at a time. Fantasy, parallel worlds.
Boring, dull
I tried reading the first three stories. Made it through the first and skimmed through the next two. I'm not wasting anymore time on it.

Didn't read it; my wife donated it to the cause
