Merete Lien (b. April 20, 1952 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian historical romance novelist. Her most known books are in Barn av stormen ("Child of the Storm") series, set in the late eighteenth century on the small Norwegian island of Jomfruland. There are currently 27 books in this series. Her newer series is Rosehagen ("The rose bower"). She has written individual novels, too; they are:

• Bak mørket ("After the Dark")
• Vinterlys ("The Winter Lily")
• Kongens bror ("The King's Brother")
