Michael Borys (born 1969) is a noted game designer specializing in alternate reality games. He currently works as Vice President of Interactive Design and core member of ARG developer 42 Entertainment. His projects include Why So Serious (for the film The Dark Knight), Year Zero (for the Nine Inch Nails album Year Zero), The Vanishing Point (Microsoft's Vista Release), Dead Man's Tale (for the film Dead Man's Chest) and Last Call Poker (for Activision's Game Gun).
Borys graduated in 1994 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue work in animation and design.
From 1996 to 2000 he worked with and led various teams within the Disney Company and helped in the creation of the original Disney’s Daily Blast and Disney Online. Michael was among the first handful of people in the world to use Macromedia’s Flash animation technology and sat on its advisory board.
In 2000 Michael teamed up with Alex Lieu and Johnny Rodriguez at 3pinmedia to work with and conceptualize major projects with Disney Imagineering and Disney Themeparks as well as create animations and games for television and the web.
In 2003-2005 Michael worked in the Nickelodeon art department as a background painter on the show The X’s while acting as Warner Brothers Senior Game Designer for its Web and Mobile Divisions.
Michael founded Skabooki Games with Jason Siadek and Alex Lieu and has done Mobile games including the puzzler Drop-N-Roll for Konami as well as many other games for Warner Brothers and Disney.
In 2009 Skabooki Games published the award-winning puzzle game for the iPhone called Skabooki.
