Book 7 in the Mitford series
This is a darker book than the earlier ones. Father Tim's depression seems to drag on endlessly.
Jan Karon has built such believable characters. I, too, hate to see each book finished. I want to meet these people, they sound so nice (well, except the witch from the mountain). When are you writing more, Ms. Karon?
I love the Jan Karon series. Good, clean fun. Excellent character development. I'd like to visit some day.

This book,like the entire series is - in a word - Beautiful. I want to move to Mitford! It is the continuation of the story of a special group of people in a small mountain town in N.C. The characters are varied and colorful and people we have all known in our lives. They are very real, very human and very wonderful. I am anxious to get to know each one better, meet the new ones and see where life takes them. I love them all so much I hate to see each book end. The lessons in this series enlighten and warm the heart. While Faith is central to the story and many of the characters - it is not "preachy " - it is just part of the people, the town and the story. I love this series, have read it before and will read it again.
I love Jan Karon's series of Father Tim stories. The characters are like one big family and the stories are very heartwarming and humorous.

The 7th in the Mitford series. Back in Mitford after pastoring a congregation on the Atlantic coast, Father Tim and Cynthia take on a new challenge. Another in the continuing Mitford series and it was wonderful, as always. I continue to feel as if I am reading a letter from a dear friend when reading Ms. Karon's books. Father Tim feels at loose ends and that he should be doing more for the Lord. He and Cynthia pray and decide to go to Tennessee to assist another Anglican priest in the back woods. However, the plans are cut brutally short and Father Tim has to learn humility, patience and self-forgiveness. All my favorite characters appear in the book and I guarantee you'll be smiling at the end.

Father Tim retires & then decides he doesn't really want retirement so takes a parish in another town. As usual, I loved this book and couldn't put it down.
