I've read other books by this author and even books in this series and liked them okay. This one annoyed me beyond belief. The story is okay. Cute idea even, but the writing is just plain silly. Lines like "A white-hot flame of desire knocked another inch into his arousal." Really? I know it's hard to find new ways to talk about desire, but trust me. This ain't what I'm looking for. So not hot. So not even warm. Bad writing. Bad.

Light-weight erotica. The story itself is kind of funny, with odd touches of realism. A legitimate escort service is being harassed and accused of providing illegal prostitute services. Our protagonists face off against each other, each one pretending to be something they aren't. Misunderstandings abound.
From then on, it's cute, but predictable. Some explicit and highly overwrought sex scenes.

From back cover: This is your lucky night. I just happen to be wearing black silk boxers." That was exactly the kind of confirmation Lydia Carmichael was looking for. Proof positive that the drop-dead gorgeous date provided by Mr. Complete Escort Services was a gigolo. All she had to do was lure that bad boy into her bed and she'd put the slimeballs out of business. But Lydia soon learned she wasn't cut out for this kind of under-the-covers work. Luke was not only hot with a capital H, he was also a considerate, caring man. As she discovered, there was a lot more beneath the surface than his sexy underwear and she found herself wanting to leave her tidy white-cotton life behind. If her secret wishes could come true, their bought-and-paid-for beginning would lead to a happily-ever-after ending that had nothing to do with money and everything to do with love.

Lydia Carmichael is irate because she believes her beloved Aunt Tempera was wronged by L.J. Reynoldss Mr. Complete Escort Service. Her aunts escort took advantage of a lonely female who fell in love with the gigolo. Lydia filed a complaint with the police and decides she must personally take action by going undercover as a client to expose this firm as a sex for hire male prostitution company.

NYPD Detective Parker informs Mr. Complete Escort Service owner Luke Reynolds that another complaint was filed against his company involving a charge of illicit sex. Luke tells the cop that he fired the escort for that reason as he runs a clean operation. Luke knows his foster brother and business rival Rhew Burgess, owner of At Your Service, has caused his recent woes. However, he overhears Lydias tirade and plan when she speaks in a public place to a friend. He decides to go along with her ploy as her escort, but finds himself incredibly attracted to Lydia, but if she fails to reciprocate any move he makes it will affirm her belief that he is running a criminal operation.

Though the use of coincidence in which the two protagonists have meetings at the same time in Dannys Bar and Grill, fans will enjoy this gender battle between two wonderful lead characters. The story line is at its best when Luke is not sure whether to trust Lydia with his feelings for her because she proclaimed to her friend she planned to shut down his business and put him behind bars. Yet he cannot walk away as he finds his attraction for her overwhelming. Humorous and hunk heaven, Sheridon Smythe spins a delightful tale.

I enjoyed this book because it was so humorous. It is the first of a series, and after reading it, I bought the other two sequels. I liked the author's style of writing, and felt her writing was smooth and sexy.

Great book!!! First one I have read by Sheridon Smythe and now I am HOOKED. The book is funny and sexy and a great read. Luke owns Mr. Complete, an escort service in Atlanta. Lydia is out to shut him down. After her aunt falls for an escort from his service and is then heartbroken with the hunk skips town, Lydia is convinced that something more along the lines of prostitution is really going on behind the guise of escorting women. When Luke finds out her plans to seduce an escort in an effort to get the proof she needs he can't resist stepping in and being the escort of choice. These two spend the entire book trying to keep their hands off each other and trap each other and all the while they are madly in lust and completely in love. The cast of characters are awesome and you fall in love with every single guy who works for Mr. Complete. Throw in a fiesty 78 year old secretary with plenty of moxy and you have a really funny read. You will laugh out loud over all the antics and stupid stuff these two go through just to get to the truth... that Luke IS what makes Lydia COMPLETE.....
