Great story of a woman's slide into insanity and the people who tried to stop her. The police were no help. People who knew her either ignored her behavior, made excuses for her, or their warnings went unheeded. Very well written.

From Publishers Weekly
Transformed into a beautiful woman by plastic surgery, Laurie Dann remained troubled by childhood isolation and unattractiveness; after her eccentricities wrecked her marriage, she became more and more psychotic, eventually going on a murderous rampage that culminated in her suicide. "This account of the complex and highly publicized case is memorable," said PW. Photos.
