"SUPERB...I'LL HEARTILY RECOMMEND ON MYSTIC LAKE TO ANY WOMAN... WHO DEMANDS THAT A STORY LEAVE HER IN A SATISFIED GLOW." - The Washington Post Book World
Annie Colwater's husband has just confessed that he's in love with a younger woman. Devastated, Annie retreats to the small town where she grew up. There, she is reunited with her first love, Nick Delacroix, a recent widower who is unable to cope with his silent, emotionally scarred young daughter. Together, the three of them begin to heal. But just when Annie believes she's been given a second chance at happiness, her world is turned upside down again, and she is forced to make a choice that no woman in love should ever have to make...
On MYSTIC LAKE is the story of one woman, but it speaks to all of us - to anyone who has ever had to find the courage to choose between what is... and what could be.
This is one of my favorite books. The story is just so sweet and touching--and it really made me feel good by the end.
I totally loved this book and hated to see the last page come. I could read it again and again. Kristin Hannah is great. I've read several of her books and love them all.
this was a book I could not put down had to finish reading it
An excellent book. Never take anything for granted in life because you never know how long you can hold on to it. I couldn't put the book down. You must read this.
wonderful book. Couldn't put it down.
Going thru a divorce,Annie returns to her hometown where she is reunited with her first love, Nick.
Annie Colwater puts her daughter on a plane to England for the summer she has always been a wife and mother. She is sad at her daughters leaving but thinks she willhav more time for her husband. Instead he confesses that he is in love with another younger woman. She had missed all the signs and is heart broken and not sure how to get over this. It is a great book as most of Kristin Hannah's are.
Annie must choose between a new love, and the love of the husband from whom she feels estranged.
Good story. About a woman who has to find the courage to choose between what is and what could be.
Annie Colwater's only child has just left home for school abroad. On that same day, her husband of twenty years confesses that he's in love with a younger woman. Alone in the house that is no longer a home, Annie comes to the painful realization that for years she has been slowly disappearing. Lonely and afraid, she retreats to Mystic, the small Washington town where she grew up, hoping that there she can reclaim the woman she once wasthe woman she is now desperate to become again.
In Mystic, she is reunited with her first love, Nick Delacroix, a recent widower unable to cope with his grieving, too-silent six-year-old daughter, Izzie. Together, the three of them begin to heal, and, at last, Annie learns that she can love without losing herself. But just when she has found a second chance at happiness, her life is turned upside down again, and Annie must make a choice no woman should have to make. . . .
Annie's husband just confessed to being in love with another woman. Annie runs back to her hometown. There she is reunited with a old friend from school, with him emotional daughter. Can these three begin to heal and have a life together?
When Annie's husband leaves her she returns to her hometown. Ready to start a new life. She finds that her highschool sweetheart is still liveing in town and that his wife has recently died.A very good book.
Great story- If you like Elizabeth Berg's writing- this author is very similar.
The character were wonderful and rich- and the words just flowed over the pages.
Very good book. Such an emotional book. One that grabs you from the first couple of pages.. Highly recomended
Hannah is fast becoming one of my favorite authors!
A lovely story in typical Kristin Hannah style. Interesting characters you care about from the get go.
I thought it was really good, once i started reading it i couldn't put it down.

I really got into this story. A good one!
Kristen Hannah is a wonderful writer. This is one of her earlier ones about a woman whose husband leaves her without a warning and how she puts her life back together again. It's a good, easy read!
from jacket cover - story of one woman, but it speaks to all of us-to anyone who has ever had to find the courage to choose between what is and what could be.

Kristin Hannah is such a great writer! I highly recommend this book.
This is the first book of hers I've read. It was great.
This is only my third Kristin Hannah book after FIREFLY LANE and TRUE COLORS, which I loved. I also truly enjoyed this one, but did find it formulaic and it seemed much like a Nicholas Sparks story (which I also love). If i have any complaint, it was that I thought this one so predictable. That being said, I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good love story. Just don't look for the depth and richness in her later characters. after all, this was written in 1999. Fun read and quick.
This as one of the best books that I have read in a long time. I have recommended it to many people who also loved it when they read it.
Another great Kristin Hannah book and I recommend it to all. Grabbed your interest right from the beginning and kept you reading thru the end.
This is definitely a love story. It kept me interested, although it got a little mushy at times.
I am now dying to read all of Kristin Hannah's books!!
I really enjoyed this one, an easy fast read for sure!
Very good, romantic. A chick book.

am giving this one star as it reminds me of harlequin and is too light.
