This is what a crime scene book is supposed to be. The author's details of her crime scenes were vivid enough to allow me to picture myself walking through the scenes with her. Funny, gruesome details bring this book to life and shows us that it's not all "lights, camera, action" in the world of a CSI.

This is such a rare book find. I loved this book from beginning to end. It was informative, funny and a great read. Anyone who is interested in the CSI would love this book. Well written and the author knew so much about the workings of the CSI.

I loved this book and would have given it top rating but I save 5 stars for James Michener et al.

Dana Kollman writes gross and gritty with a gifted hand. She talks about all bodily fluids and solids and what the bugs do to them with absolute clarity and wit. She compares reality against the TV shows. Seriously, getting called out at 3 am to check for semen on a shed door, or having globs of brain and clots of blood sprayed across the room, thus at you, from a ceiling fan, is not TV glamour. She tells of the difficulty she and her group had when first coming on board because they were taking jobs from long time detectives. Cripes, they were mean. But she was strong and persevered. This is a short review because anything else would be reviewing individual cases that made me laugh, get nauseated, or shake my head and wonder why God puts up with humanity.

I checked, she's written nothing else, or I'd buy them all.
