Kumar received his Bachelor of Commerce at Calcutta University in 1980. He would receive his Masters of Commerce at Shivaji University in 1983. In 1986, he completed his MBA at the University of Illinois at Chicago and in 1991, received his Ph.D. in Market at the Kellogg School of Management in Northwestern University.
Career
Kumar is currently a Professor of Marketing, Faculty Director Executive Education, Director of Centre for Marketing, and Co-Director of Aditya Birla India Centre at London Business School.
He previously served on the faculty of Harvard Business School, IMD-International Institute for Management Development (Switzerland), and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
