When Alexandra Bergson, daughter of Swedish immigrants, takes over the family farm after her father's death, she falls under the spell of the forbidding Nebraska . Interesting account of pioneers taming an unwelcoming land.
Willa Cather is a Great American Author and does and exceptional job in bringing the hard times of settling the Nebraska Prairie to life through her strong, independent lead character, Alexandra. I enjoyed this book immensely.
Great Classic read. Wonderful woman story.
