A large cast of colorful characters, a story plot that seems like one that would come from drinking too much wine, and none of it was remotely interesting. Sorry! I wanted to like it.

The book was interesting, very intense at times. There were times when it was hard to follow thee story line.

Diane Setterfield's Thirteenth tale is one of my favorite books. It was slow to start and once I passed a few chapters I could not put it down. Her second book the Bellman & Black I could not get through the book. I ended up not finishing it.

This book began the same way, I was interested in it but it was taking forever to get through it. Then pieces starting falling into place. It did not hold my attention like the first but it was much better than her second and I enjoyed the story and characters.
