Patricia Wrightson (19 June 1921 – 15 March 2010) was an Australian author who authored a number of highly regarded and influential children's books. She was born in Lismore, New South Wales on 19 June 1921. For many years she was editor of The School Magazine. The Patricia Wrightson Award for Children's Literature was established in her honour. She died of "natural causes" on 15 March 2010, a few days after entering a New South Wales hospital.
