Everything expected from Rosenfelt - great dog-loving people in danger with a mystery to solve and a life on the line. Andy Carpenter's introspection, brief as it is, makes me laugh out loud. The tension and mystery make me keep reading until the end, but I always hate saying goodbye-for-now to these characters when I get there.

Pleasantly surprised, first book by this author, at first thought 'oh no story about a wonder dog' but actually it is the beginning when Andy gets custody of a Golden Retreiver and moves on to defend the actual owner in a retrial for murder to get him out of prison. It is easy to follow the characters and it has a light heartedness to it to make you like the characters. Probably will try more by this author.

I love this series. The best feature are the witty remarks. And while there is a flow of events from one book to the next, it is not necessary to read the books in order.

This is a fun series if you like light-hearted mysteries and Golden Retrievers. Pretty good character development, with ongoing story lines. The main character is a lawyer who inherited 22 million dollars, so he only has to take cases that interest him. He is also part owner of a dog rescue, and owns a Golden Retriever named Tara. The mysteries are pretty good, and the books are fast, fun reads.

This is my favorite so far in this series! Thrills, humor and surprises as expected, but the best of the stories in my opinion. Wonderful reading. Hard to put down!
