What makes a good book?

Grabbing your attention from page 1
Something happening within each chapter to make you want to continue reading
Love/hate characters whether you can relate to them or not
Straight forward story without the format of 'before/after' 'then/now' but just a well written story from the beginning
I read a few reviews on Amazon and didn't understand the 1 or 2 ratings but then everyone has their own opinion

I think this is well written and worth the time to read it
