Not the best Lynley novel, and definitely not one to start with if you don't already know the characters. Although I was drawn in by the story, I also found the longwindedness of the narration irritating. She takes so long with each scene and beats some themes to death. I also did not find the subplot having to do with one series character's drinking engaging in the slightest. And the resolution seemed somewhat implausible. Oh well!
