I have mixed feelings about this book. It was confusing at first, jumping from present to past without warning and adding new characters in between.
Two women, Claudia and Zoey are strangers, but tied to each other in a way they couldn't imagine. Each are victims of horrific acts that defined their future.

I'd like to warn you that the extreme violence and cruelty were hard to read without gasping and I almost didn't finish. But I was already invested in the women and had to see what happened. Except for the brutality the story was exciting and I'm happy I finished it
