An excellent book--a compelling version (and view) of London in the early 1700s and the circumstances surrounding the creation of Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock." I loved every minute of it! And Cameron Stewart's reading not only of the novel, but in particular of the second version of the mock epic at the very end, was the perfect icing on a most delectable cake!
This bk is about a portion of the life of Alexander Pope. And it is the story of the social scandal that gave him the inpiration for his epic satirical poem ' The Rape of the Lock'. I enjoyed it and liked the reader, Cameron Stewart.

Interesting story outlining the story behind the poem of the rape of the lock, showing how the world views certain people and how they actually are. What sparkles is not always real or pretty.
