Slater can be a hit/miss with her writing and this one borders being a 'miss'
It takes forever to get to anything interesting, it hints at 'the secret' of the husband who died--so I held onto that thinking it would be a 'thrill' but NOT!
Slater just drags and drags it out hinting of 'the secret' and when it was finally revealed I was aggravated that it just wasn't a 'thrill', then the story just seems to drag and drag and after the half mark I had to start skimming to get to something that felt like it was a psychological thriller, but for me it just wasn't a satisfying book
I almost gave it only 2* but maybe the thought she put into the story deserves a 3 rating but don't expect anything close to being a 'thriller'
