Oh, what a good book!! It just might be my very favorite in the whole series!! It was entertaining and held a satisfying conclusion, not only to the book's plot, but to the series' plot arch as well. And though I am pretty satisfied with the way it ended, I must admit that I do hope that this doesn't end up being the ACTUAL conclusion... I mean, there are still a few loose ends that I would like to see tied up. I imagine that it will be a while before I re-read this series, but it definitely is one of my very favorites!

You want humor? You want crazy family? You want detectives? You want a heroine who loves Get Smart episodes and makes lists of everything in her life (including ex-boyfriends, of which she has over 10)? Then you definitely want Isabel (Izzy) Spellman. But really, any of her family will do.

Theyre all private detectives, you see. And in this family, snooping on each other is the only way to get any information. Its an art form that Izzy and her two siblings (older, perfect David and younger, junk food junkie Rae) are all taught from a very early age.

Izzy is...well, shes kind of a fuck up and was rather a nightmare of a child for her parents. But shes a brilliant detective. And shes trying. She really is.

The series is comprised of:
The Spellman Files
Curse of the Spellmans
Revenge of the Spellmans
The Spellman's Strike Again

I've read them all, and highly recommend the entire series.

Izzy and family are back with more outrageous dysfunction!

The family is up to their old tricks--snooping around, surveilling each other and digging up all the family dirt. In this hilarious installment of the Spellman series, we find that things are a bit topsy turvy. Isabel is taking over the business, meaning that her usual tactics won't exactly fly. She finds herself involved in intrigue surrounding Rae's mysterious boyfriend, David & Maggie's relationship, missing household items at the Spellman residence and the re-appearance of Henry, who wants to be her friend. She is still 'dating' Connor, but is being forced by her mother to go on a series of blind dates with various lawyers (which is a wonderful outlet for her usual antics). In the end, it's business as usual for the Spellmans. The major issues are resolved, but they are still the same, just waiting for a reason to attach a GPS to another family member's car.

I hope this is not the end of the Spellmans. Lisa Lutz has created an incredible family. While it is clear that their motivation always centers on what is best for the others, the manipulation, blackmail & total lack of communication make the Spellmans so realistic and funny. While we do see some growth involving all the characters, Izzy really evolves and matures (for Izzy) during this installment. While some plotlines were wrapped up, some were left open--I hope that Lutz revisits these soon for another Spellman File.

I have about 20 pages to go and I love this book! The Spellmans have become a favorite of mine. I love the banter they have amongst themselves! I really hope Lisa Lutz chooses to continue on with the series!

I am enjoying this series but this one just wasn't up to par as the other 3. It was OK but lacking. I'm still going to finish the series

Fun book -- I love the dynamic! Crazy family antics, and very nearly believable -- or is it just that my family is as crazy?
