I love the concept of this book, and some of the excerpts (real and fictional) are great, but I think they are just too short. It's kind of like those compilation trailers that you get at the beginning of DVDs now that are trying to sell 5 movies at the same time and end up confusing you and shortchanging the movies; it didn't give me quite enough time to make up my mind if the books excerpted from were worth looking up and reading, instead it just cut directly to the car chase or explosion or quotable line... It'd be good for a place where you didn't have much time to get in to a deep, thoughtful read.
