Stephen Graham Jones is a Blackfeet Native American author of experimental fiction, horror fiction, crime fiction, and science fiction. He shares a fan base with fellow authors Will Christopher Baer and Craig Clevenger known as The Velvet. November 16, 2010 Stephen will have a collection of short stories published via Prime Books, called The Ones That Got Away . He also will have Flushboy published in 2013 and Not for Nothing published in 2014 via Dzanc.
Born in West Texas in 1972, Stephen Graham Jones earned a B.A. in English and Philosophy at Texas Tech University and an M.A. at University of North Texas. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from Florida State University in 1998. Since then he won a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Independent Publisher Book Award for Multicultural Fiction and other awards. Recently he served as an associate professor of English at Texas Tech University, however he is now an associate professor of English at University of Colorado at Boulder. At public readings he's said that his short story "Bestiary" isn't fiction.
