Steven Charles Gould (born February 7, 1955) is an American science fiction author. His novels tend to have protagonists fighting to rid government of corrupt antagonists. The struggle against corruption is the focus, rather than the technology. He is married to science fiction writer Laura J. Mixon.

Wildside (1996): Alternative universe, set in Texas: a group of high school graduates find a hole into an alternative reality, a pristine world unspoiled by man and human-caused extinctions. They start a gold business and are discovered by the government.
