I've read many books by Koontz before, but this was the first one that I just could not quit reading, and the first one that kept me up all night listening for strange noises. Wonderful creepy apocalyptic novel.

I was hooked from the first chapter. The way that everything in the world can be over turned by such beauty and mesmerizing amazement. And then slowly taken over by terror, death, suicide and murderous actions...only to leave the world with what I think as the morally right. Traversing across the country with only things you would think of in your darkest dreams and then being slowly captivated by the "new world"...where everything is as you make it. Seriously Dean Koontz at his best. I've read it at least 10 times & can not get enough!
