I had this book on my shelf for about 5 years before finally reading it. What a page-turner it was as the story idea was like nothing I'd read before. The whole idea of Nora and Joe, and could they accomplish a life together, was fascinating. How would it ever work out? And the background of Grand Central Station, its pulsing life, was just as fascinating as they were. However, it did slow down, get long, too long, thus I give it only 3.5 stars. Still worth a read.

On the face of it, Time After Time by Lisa Grunwald is a slow paced love story. It is a story that calls for the suspension of disbelief but raises very real life questions. Reading the author's note first definitely impacts my reaction to this book. This interpretation grounds the book and makes Joe and Nora's challenges relatable and turns a sweet fantasy into a surprisingly real love story.

Interesting premise with a WWII Homefront setting in Grand Central Station. It was a fit farfetched and the storyline was a bit contrived, but if you take it for what it is - an historical fiction novel, it is an enjoyable read about love, loss, and living without regret.
