Todd Parr is the author and illustrator of over 30 children's books. Todd was born on July 9, 1962. He grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming. In 1995 Todd moved to San Francisco, California where he pursued a career as an artist. After being rejected from many galleries, Todd showed his artwork at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant Postrio. Eventually, this exhibit led to him creating merchandise for Macy's and his own children's clothing line. Todd published his first book in 1998. In November 2005 the preschool television show he created, ToddWorld, premiered on TLC and Discovery Kids.

Todd Parr uses bright colors and bold, black outlines to illustrate his books. His books contain simple messages about acceptance, difference, and empowerment. Todd writes his books to help children learn to believe in themselves and to accept others. Each book ends with an encouraging, empowering message from Todd.

Todd Parr has won two National Parenting Publication Awards and three Oppenheim Gold Awards. He is also the recipient of the Scholastic's Parent and Child Magazine Teacher's Pick. Todd's books have won several awards and his TV show, ToddWorld, was nominated for an Emmy. ToddWorld won the iParenting Media Award and the episode "Who's Your Best Friend?" won the 2005 Humanitas Award.Todd Parr's dream is to own his own restaurant.
