An entertaining and intriguing look at the life of a family in New York City approaching the millenium. Both parents have high-powered and culturally significant careers: in television producing and technology.

The word for this novel is breathless. It hurtles along at a dizzying pace unloading so much information that it's impossible to take it all in. That being said, I really enjoyed it. It seems very much a novel of today. I guess because the amount of information we receive on a daily basis has only gotten more so in the 18 years since the book was written. He covers the tech world, television and the media world, and high finance in a thoroughly credible way. I was lost in the details of stock manipulation but all the same, enjoyed being taken for this exhilarating ride.
