This is one of the best "for young adult" fantasy series I have ever read. The two main characters are achingly realistic (except for the wizardry, of course) Growing up is hard enough - but when you have accepted the burden of being a world-saving wizard added to normal teen-age angst, anything can happen and does.
In this book, Nita has to come face-to-face with real mortality and she also has to learn to accept that being a wizard is NOT the be all and end all of existance and she has to finally accept that being a wizard isn't an automatic answer for everything. Can she? Does she? Is the sacrifice really worth it all?
Please read this - actually, please read ALL of them starting with SO YOU WANT TO BE A WIZARD. No matter if you are 14 or 84, I guarantee the read is great.
