Another great collection of short stories by the Who's Who of 1970's fantasy fiction. Rather than being strictly tales of Swords & Sorcery, many of these tales are influenced by H. P. Lovecraft. Xiurhn by Gary Myers is based on the combined influences of Lovecraft and Lord Dunsany and convincingly so. All these tales are high quality obscurity and well worth reading when the book can be found. The brief tale by Avram Davidson is a rare jewel by this under appreciated writer. As is, Carter's own contribution which is based on a unfinished manuscript by Clark Aston Smith.
