I like English mysteries and this time period. I enjoyed the author's writing style and I thought the characters were interesting. I look forward to receiving the second book in the series.

I've read all of the J.D. Robb In Death series and the only regret I had after reading them in chronological order was that when I became current, I had to wait until the next book was written. I enjoy her characters and her writing never bogs me down with too much detail...just the right balance. A good read.

Very engrossing. I now want to learn how to predict the weather (in my little corner of the world) by cloud formation, barometric pressure and nature.

This book was my first experience of reading a work by Dorothy Simpson. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Inspector Thanet and Detective Sergeant Lineham are likeable characters with a good working chemistry. I'm looking forward to reading more books in this English mystery series. It was a guessing game until the end.
