Arms and Equipment Guide (Advanced DungeonsDragons, Dungeon Master's Guide, Rules Supplement/Dmgr3 Accessory 2123)
Review Date: 10/29/2021

Have this for the images of the weapons no matter what Fantasy RPG you play. It's great to show players the variety of weapons available.

Cop Under Fire: Moving Beyond Hashtags of Race, Crime and Politics for a Better America
Review Date: 11/7/2021

It's a little dated now but the politics still hold true. People like Sheriff Clark are incredibly brave. Their stand for the truth loses them lots of opportunities and chances for money.

This book reads easily. Clark shares his past and childhood and ties that into how he sees the world today. He's a strong advocate for the police and shows us that cops in general are just trying to doe their jobs.

If you feel cops in your area are bad, ask for a ride-along. It'll give you new perspective.

Descent into the Depths of the Earth (Greyhawk Novels: Greyhawk Classics)
Review Date: 10/29/2021

This is a fun, campy ride. Definitely read White Plume Mountain first. Great for old-school D&D fans.

Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook: Roleplaying Game Core Rules, 4th Edition
Review Date: 10/29/2021

I won't give up my copy. This is a great wargame. It's meant to play on a battle mat and roleplaying comes-in at a far 2nd. If you play 5th Edition you may want to get a copy to give your players some special powers and the magic items are well described though succinct. Enjoy it for what it is.

This wasn't bad. It was solidly written pulp fiction. Lots of dialogue so you'll burn through it in a few evenings. It felt like a group of characters going on an adventure. They have to make a less-than-heroic decision at a particular point. For those of you who play, you'll know what I mean as it happens to most of us in a heroic-themed campaign.

Monster Manual 2: A 4th Edition D&D Core Rulebook (D&D Supplement)
Review Date: 10/29/2021

This was a great addition to the wargame. If you need more monsters (and you always do) add this to your game. Use it with your 5e game to give your existing monsters some special abilities to make it fun for your players.

This is where 4E started to veer from the solid wargame it was designed to be. The races and classes felt "forced" to me. It seemed like a book that was really out to make money instead of a solid addition to the game. WotC may have done better if they simply marketed this as a rules-heavy battle tactics version and moved on with 5E.

This one came after White Plume Mountain. Goes into more depth with the fairy character and lots more fun with monsters and magic. Kind of campy but enjoyable for anyone who love old-school D&D. Lots of dialogue. You'll burn through it in a few nights.

The Justicar and fairy are fun characters. Check out this title on YouTube to hear some excerpts of the audio book. They don't have spoilers but still give you a fun presentation of the characters bantering with each other. You'll particularly like this book if you actually played the adventure.
