This summer we went to England and out to Oxford, where the real Alice lived. At ChristChurch I had to admit to the docent there that I, a well-read,55 year-old, had NEVER read Alice in Wonderland. I saw the movies. But never went to the source. I'm so glad that I was shamed into ordering a copy from PBS. I am now entirely literate! What a charming book, not just for kids! How odd it is that so very little of the specialness made it into the movies. If you are like I was, read it! You'll be so glad you did.

This is a sweet book that I used to read to my son when he was small. The copy I had was destroyed when he went through his "destruction of all things baby" phase. I am very happy to have another copy to read to my grandchildren when I get them.

It was certainly funny, and I love Tina Fey. I thought the F-bomb was unnecessary and disappointing. I loved the chapter on her father! And her childhood memories. Except for that one small criticism, and it was small, it's a very good read.

I read this book when it first came out. Less than 2 years later, I had married the man of my choice. It has some common sense tips that I really felt helped me FIND the man of my choice. I have a quibble with the section on sex, because much of that is not true, but if you skip that part, the rest is very helpful. BTW, my choice man and I have been married going on 28 years.

What a lovely book! I wept openly, (always a good thing) and it touched me deeply. It is a beautiful compendium to "A Christmas Carol" Sorry, I won't be reposting this one. It is a keeper!!!

This novel didn't end up at all how I thought it would! And that's a good thing. If I can figure out what happens next, I don't think the writer has spent enough time being creative. But this story was beautifully told and unfolded in a realistic way. Enjoyed it very much.

This book really opened my eyes to a country that I knew very little about. How easy it is to generalize about a group of people, when we ourselves dislike anyone making generalization about a group we may belong to. I enjoyed this book and think that my time was well spent.
