This is the 2nd in the series but it doesn't hurt if you read them out of order. I liked the mystery in this book though I preferred the romance in the first. It was an okay quick read.

This book is the first in a new series. It introduces the idea of shapeshifters in the military and did that part convincingly enough. The romance between the two main characters is steamy enough too for this quick read. All in all just an average read. I'm addicted to these paranormal romances so I will probably keep reading this series too!

A real surprise. The book isn't quite centered on the world of vampires but on the weird happenings in Penance, Ohio. It makes for a very refreshing unconventional paranormal read while still satisfying your romantic needs. Great! I wish there was a sequel!

I read the first 80 pages and found some big holes in the character development. For example, the main character is "jilted" by her first love and when she finally runs into him after 12 years, we then learn her sister was married to the guy's brother. Umm, that seems like a weird coincidence. Are men at such a shortage? Some of the colloquialisms are not time appropriate, I thought, and the relationship between Duncan and Margaret was a bit too contrived. Not impressed.

I've read all of the other Argeneau books and this latest addition did not disappoint. It actually felt a bit fresher and not as predictable as a few of her other books. Juicy romance, wit, and turn-paging plot-line make this a good, quick read!

I really enjoy all of Susan Krinard's books. She has an excellent grasp on building tension between the characters. The male character in this book is just enough dark and brooding and barely contained passion. The ending seemed a bit rushed in order to wrap up and explain things, but still a unique and not quite predictable ending.
