This book wasn't my cup of tea. I think the story had some potential, but I didn't care for the way it was executed.

Throughout the story were snippets of things with other townspeople that drove me nuts. They all were a bunch of greedy jerks. And I don't know why but I hated the name John Jasper. Every time I read it it bugged me. (weird, I know...) I didn't feel connected to any of the characters, not even Claudia, who I would think should be the one we should be able to connect with the most.

I just couldn't get into this one. I very rarely quit a book before finishing it, but I just had to stop reading this one. It seemed to move too slow and was rather dull.

I was a little unsure of how I would like this book. I haven't read a whole lot of medical dramas, and a few that I did were confusing with terms and ideas that were way over my head! Luckily, I didn't have any problem with this book. The writer used medical terms but it was never confusing or hard to follow.

I loved that we got the Charlotte/Jane Doe story line and the Raney/Bo story. Even though it jumped back and forth it wasn't distracting or annoying I found myself a little more drawn to the Raney chapters than the rest though to be honest.

This book is beautifully written and I loved it. The main reason for a 4 1/2 star review rather than a 5 star review was it seemed like the ending was rushed. A lot happened all at once and we weren't given full details on all of it and it is unclear exactly what happened. I just wish there was more clarity on it.

I definitely enjoyed this book, and will look for others by this author.

I really enjoyed this book! It was fun, light, and the perfect summer read. Lots of parts seemed unrealistic or unlikely, but it didn't bother me, I loved it anyway. The characters were funny and interesting and the story kept me reading.

Being from Iowa (not all that far away from Cedar Falls) it was fun seeing names of towns and businesses from around here.

I can't wait to see what else this author comes up with in the future!

I thought this book sounded interesting, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Within the first 10 pages I almost quit. I couldn't follow what was going on and it just sounded like a mess as I read it. However once I got into it, I was so glad I didn't give up on it. It is such a poetically written novel. I didn't feel like I was reading a book...I almost felt like I was reading a very long poem. The story does jump around a lot, but after awhile I got all of the characters straight and could follow the story easily. I'm so glad I continued and finished this book. by the end I was cheering for Lee and wanted nothing but the best for her. Great read.

I'll be honest...I had a very hard time with this book in the beginning. I thought the main characters seemed pretty terrible and strange, and the story just wasn't moving along for me. I kept with it, and ended up enjoying the second half or so of the book much more than the first. I was still confused by the main characters relationship, and often wondered how they could really love each other the way they acted though. This book is kind of an ugly look at a marriage.

All in all, the last half helped make up for the first half in my eyes. It helped raise my rating from 2 to 2 1/2 stars.

This was a good quick read. I was drawn into the story right off the bat. The characters were believable and interesting, and the story was realistic. I liked how similar Betty & Susannah's stories were.

There were times when I told myself, "oh, I know what will happen to these people" or "I bet that this happens" but I was almost always wrong! I liked the surprise of the story not going exactly where I thought it would!

I have a few more of Kathleen McCleary's books on my bookshelf. I'm looking forward to diving into those as well.

What a cute story!! I really enjoy books that have a baking theme to it as I love to bake too. It was fun that the main character owned a bakery when that's what I would love to do.

Besides loving the bakery part of it, I really liked these characters. Ciaran was SO charming and I could picture him so well. Even I was swooning. Holly was a lovable character and I was rooting for her the whole story.

Anouska Knight tells a fun story in this book. I'm looking forward to reading more from her.

It's taken me a few days to get this review written, just because it's hard to know what to say about a book that you love so much. I just loved everything about this book. The storyline was great, the characters were lovable, the writing was absolutely poetical, and I just could not put it down (once I actually had time to read it!).

I'm recommending this book to pretty much everyone I know, I loved it so much. It was the first book by this author I've read, and am now looking forward to checking out more of his novels.
