Blind dates can be bad, but Sarah Dearly's date is a true contender for worst ever. His neck nibbling didn't just leave a bruise; it turns her into a vampire, and the newest target for a pack of zealot vampire hunters. With her date now their latest victim, Sarah runs for her immortal life--straight into Thierry de Bennicoeur, a master vampire who is just a wee bit suicidal. Thierry can't resist a damsel in distress and agrees to teach Sarah how to live the vampire life if she'll help him end his own. But as it turns out, Sarah may be his best reason for living. This was a fun book to read.

The series is very entertaining, though sometimes a bit frustrating. Sam's a pain.

The book was light and enjoyable.

While it was intriguing to read about the Carparthians gathering and catch up on old stories, the story was slow and I'm getting pretty bored with the one-note characters.

Lilith Saintcrow keeps getting better. Her Dante Valentine series is exciting. I can't wait for the next book.

Rachel Caine is very enjoyable, though this book is not up to her Weather Warden material.

Seems to predate most of the Dark Hunter novels. Good, but sometimes confusing.

Almost anything Suzanne Enoch writes is wonderful. This book had a twist--the hero was not self-confident, but neither he nor the heroine were saccarhine.

Reminded me a bit of Jennifer Cruisie.

After their mother's untimely death, Ava Fairchild, her sister Phoebe, and their cousin Greer discover their family's fortune is now under the control of their penny-pinching stepfather, Lord Downey. To avoid Downey's plan to marry them off to the first suitors who show up, Ava decides to find her own husband. Fortunately, Ava has already met the perfect candidate: Jared Broderick, the Marquis of Middleton. Tired of being pressed by his father to abandon his rakish ways and marry a respectable woman, Jared realizes that marrying Ava offers the perfect solution to his problems. What Jared gets, however, is a wife who isn't about to accept a mere marriage of convenience but rather a woman who will settle for nothing less than a marriage based on love. The first in a new series by the exceptionally entertaining London, this romance is another of her delectable combinations of superbly crafted characters, graceful writing, and sinfully sexy romance.

Zachary doesn't realize that Caroline's longing gazes have less to do with attraction and more to do with admission -- to a prestigious arts conservatory. If only she could set those high cheekbones, that aristocratic brow, and those powerful shoulders to canvas, her dreams would all come true. But Caroline is soon having dreams of a very different sort -- ones that involve the charming rogue and some improper behavior hardly befitting a lady dedicated to her art . . .unless she becomes dedicated to the art of love.

After her reputation is ruined by a vengeful enemy of her disreputable father, Lady Juliet Pervill's future is bleak. She throws her lot in with the War Office to help decode messages and finds herself working with Seamus McCurren. Fun.
