This was the first book that I have read from Sylvie F. Sommerfield and I was not disappointed. The book focuses on the Dubonne family and all the different trials, tribulations and happy moments in their lives. The book starts out with the family living in France and eventually winding up in the United States. I don't want to say more or it will spoil the book. The book has many twists and turns, kept me reading to find out what happens next. This was a very good book and I could hardly put it down! I highly recommend this book!

This is one of the most interesting and wonderful books a person could read. It tells the story of Ayla, who is a very strong character, who seems to be able to conquer all obstacles that come her way. Ayla is a Cro-magnon girl who is adopted into a group of Neanderthals. Ayla also has many skills which help her in her life and adventures. She is truly an inspiring character. I read this book a long time ago, but it has remained my favorite book of all time. The author makes you feel as if you are there with Ayla and she describes the landscape and time period beautifully. You will not be sorry if you decide to read this book. There are also four books that follow this book and they are, The Valley of Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, The Plains of Passage and The Shelters of Stone. Happy Reading.

This is the first book that I have read by Diana Palmer and I was not disappointed and will be reading more of her books. The book focuses on Christabel Gaines and Judd Dunn. These 2 are legally married on paper for the sake of both of their interests in the cattle ranch that they jointly own. Christabel has a major crush on Judd, but Judd feels he is too old for her and he can't figure out his feelings for her. He is also a Texas ranger. Judd and Christabel have known each other for a long time and he basically saved her from her alcoholic father and also helped with her mother. Judd is investigating 2 murders and there have also been some cattle poisonings on their ranch. Enter Cash Grier, who is older than Judd, and shows a lot of interest in Christabel, which makes Judd jealous. There is also Tippy Moore, an actress, who makes Christabel jealous. There are many more adventures than what I have mentioned, but I don't want to say more and ruin the story. This book kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and I could hardly put it down. I highly recommend this book!

This is the first book that I have read from Nicholas Sparks & I was not disappointed. It is actually 2 stories in 1 that eventually intertwine with each other. 91 year old Ira Levinson is in trouble. He has crashed his car in the the middle of winter & is in a remote area & is trapped in his car with no chance of help coming soon. As he is in his car, his wife, Ruth, who has been dead for 9 years, comes to him & they reminisce about their marriage, life & art collection. Meanwhile, Sophia Danko, who is in her senior year of college, has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend, Brian. She decides to get out & go to a rodeo with her friends. There she meets a handsome cowboy named Luke. Luke is a bull rider. Sophia & Luke fall in love. Sophia is worried about Luke's career as a bull rider & worries about him getting hurt. They are also worried about what they are going to do about their relationship & where it will go once Sophia finishes her senior year at college. Eventually, Sophia's & Luke's lives collide with that of Ira's & Ruth's. The story has many twists & turns. I won't say more because I don't want to ruin the story. Excellent book! Kept me turning the pages, waiting to see what happens next! Read it, you won't be sorry! Will definitely read more Nicholas Sparks books! Also, love his movies! I read this book before the movie came out.

This is the third book in the earth Children series about Ayla. In this book Jondalar and Ayla have traveled from the valley in Valley of the Horses to the land of the Mamutoi. Here Ayla encounters her first people of the Others besides Jondalar. She forms bonds with the leaders and forms her first woman friendships with people of the Others. Here she feels accepted and loved. She also meets Ranec, who she is very attracted to. A love triangle forms between Ayla, Jondalar and Ranec. Over the long winter, Ayla struggles with her feelings and must decide who she wants to be with and what she wants to do. There is also a half Neanderthal and half Cromagnon boy who reminds Ayla of her son Durc. She teaches the people of the Mamutoi how to communicate with him and ends up revealing a lot of her past to the Mamutoi who are appalled at first, but learn to accept her. She also enhances her medicine woman skills and her skill with taming and understanding animals. This was a very good book. Makes you keep reading to find out what Ayla's ultimate decision will be. To stay with Ranec and people who have accepted her or to go with Jondalar to meet his people. I love this series! Ayla is my favorite literary character of all time!

This was another fabulous book from author Fern Michaels. It starts out with Maddy Carmichael going to her high school prom and the tragic events that happen at the prom and afterwards which cause her to flee her hometown and reinvent herself and change the outcome of different things throughout 2 decades of her life. Her mother is very neglectful and her twin brother is a creep. They never try to find her after she flees. This book was very good and I could not put it down!

This is the story of Claire Scarborough & Justin Connor. It starts out with Claire in a school for girls in England where she is staying while her father is mining for gold in New Zealand. Soon she is informed that her father has passed away leaving her an orphan. She has a guardian, Justin Connor, but through seven years at the school, he never visits or writes. leaving Claire bitter and treated cruelly at the school. At the age of eighteen, she and two of the school's employees set off to New Zealand to find her guardian. Unable to find him ,the two employees dump her overboard and leave her. She literally washes up on the shore and is found by her guardian, who has no idea that she is his ward. He falls head over heels in love with her & she is falling for him until she sees her father's pocketwatch with her picture in it. She keeps thinking that he will recognize her, but he doesn't. He feels guilty about not taking care of his ward & goes to London in search of her & to claim his inheritance after being informed that his father has died. He tells Claire, who is using the name Emily Scarlet, to wait & he will return for her. Claire is upset & feels betrayed & goes back to London on her own, without Justin's knowledge. When Justin gets to London & finds out that his ward is no longer at the school, he puts out a reward to anyone who can find her & bring her to him. When she is found, he feels like a fool because he thought she was much younger & she is the woman he fell in love with in New Zealand & she never revealed her true identity to him. Now he feels that he can never have her & has to act more of a father figure to her. The story goes on to include many balls & adventures. Eventually, they figure out that they can't be together as guardian & ward because they are too much in love with each other to be anything but lovers. They do everything they can for each other & their love is so sweet you can feel it as you are reading. He rescues her several times & you can feel how much they love each other. It has a wonderful ending with many twists & turns. I won't say anything more because I don't want to ruin it for you. I high highly recommend this book. It was very good & I could hardly put it down!

This is one of the best books I have ever read! It starts out with Claire Randall and her husband Frank Randall in Scotland for a second honeymoon after many years apart while both were serving in World War 2. Claire is a nurse and Frank is an archealogist who is very interested in his family history and is trying to track it. Claire goes out on her own one day and comes across a circle of standing stones. Intrigued, Claire goes up to one and touches it and immediately gets catapulted back in time 200 years. She soon runs into Black Jack Randall and also Dougal and Jamie who rescue her from Randall's clutches. Jamie is a British outlaw and Claire is forced to marry him. She soon discovers that Jamie is a wonderful, brave and loving man who would do anything to protect her. Claire has conflicting feelings because she is still in love with Frank. Over time, Claire develops a very strong love for Jamie. She is a very loving and devoted wife to him. The book talks a lot about the conflicts between Scotland and Britain and the political issues and differences between the two. Claire and Jamie spend a lot of time with Jamie's uncle and then go to Jamie's sister's and Stay for a while at Lallybrooch. Eventually, Claire and Jamie end up in France and are trying to stop the battle of Culloden where many
Scots get killed. The book is amazing and there are many more adventures than what I have mentioned. There are 8 books so far in this series and I have read all but the last one. I listened to a lot of them on tape and that was fantastic! Read this series you won't be sorry! There is also a TV series made from these books playing on the Starz channel. If you want something similar to these books then I suggest that you read the Earth Children Series, which starts out with the Clan of the Cave Bear, by Jean M. Auel and has 6 books in the total series. It is a different genre, but just as amazing as these books!

This is the second book in the Earth's Children series. It continues the story of Ayla after she has been cast out of the Clan for disobeying Broud & daring to stand up to him. She starts out on her journey & is looking for the Others, which is her people. She searches for a long time & doesn't find anyone of the Others. Instead, she finds a lush valley which has all the resources she needs to survive, along with her many skills. She hunts & accidentally kills a baby horse's mother, so she takes it in & tames & cares for it. The same thing happens with a lion cub. The animals help ease her loneliness, but she still longs for human companionship. She misses her son Durc & the rest of her Clan family. Enter Jondalar, a man of the Others, who is on a journey with his brother, Thonolan. Ayla stumbles upon the 2 of them when she is out hunting. She is so excited to finally see people of the Others! She can do nothing to help Thonolan for he is already dead, but Jondalar is still alive, though unconsciousness. She uses her medicine woman skills to help nurse him back to health. Jondalar is astonished, when he regains consciousness, by the beautiful woman who is caring for him. They get to know each other, but it is hard because Ayla has forgotten how to speak with words & only knows the sign language of the Clan. Jonadlar eventually teaches her how to speak with words & they get to know each other & learn about each other's past. They are each others soulmates & have a deep love for each other. They have quite a few adventures in the valley & learn a lot about the earth, animals & each other. Eventually they leave the valley & set off to find more people of the Others. This was a fabulous book! Jean M. Auel is my favorite author & Ayla is my favorite Fictional character. Auel makes you feel like you are part of the story. Kept me turning the pages & wanting more! I just love this series! Read the books, you won't be sorry! Next book in the series is The Mammoth Hunters.
