Loved it -- just like all the others from the In Death series!

Born in Death (In Death, Bk 23) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)

Another winner! These books make my commute survivable! Listening to Susan Erickson's vocal characterizations is like listening to a full-cast radio play. The homicide mysteries, while gorier than I like, are not simplistic and easily solved with miraculaous plot twists. It's clear that Eve and her team work for their results, and that puts the work the rest of us do into perspective.

Creation in Death (In Death, Bk 25) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 8/4/2011

This audio book is just as fun as all the others in the series: beautiful narration and characterizations by Susan Eriksen and all of JD Robb's little details that create such a complete world. My husband calls these books/cds my "happy place," and he's right. For me, NY of 2060 is just the right escape!

Not for the faint of heart!! This is one of the more violent of this murder series, but it's also one with very fully realized "bad guys," a good counterpart to our heroine and friends. If you are already a fan of the In Death series, you will love this. If you haven't read or listened to any of these, I'd recommend not starting here. Go back to the beginning, or at least earlier in the series, to get a feel for the main character and her supporting cast.

Memory in Death (In Death, Bk 22) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 6/26/2012

I love these audio cds, and htis one is no exception. A warning to those who identify strongly with Eve Dallas and her childhood experiences: this one describes in detail part of her time "in the system" after being found in an alley in Dallas, and it's not pretty.

Rapture in Death (In Death, Bk 4) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 4/10/2015

I love each of these audio books, and I don't repost them because I listen to them again and again. This is one the earlier ones in the series, and it's interesting to see how the author sets up events that I know will have bearing later on in the "continuing story." As always, the narrator is terrific -- wish I could search books by narrator because Susan Erikson is so terrific!

Salvation in Death (In Death, Bk 27) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)

I love listening to this series as I commute. You can start anywhere in this series and understand what's going on, but if you listen to a lot of these, you'll see that JD Robb builds more into the relationships between characters with each installment. Susan Ericksen's reading are so creative that I'm on the lookout for more of her work as well.

An excellent book for preteen through adult. It's a quick read, but will spark lengthy conversations, especially in families with a history of mental illness/depression. It'd be a great jumping-off point.
