One of the most compelling books I've read this year. The storyline keeps you reading. The author does a great job of setting the scene and evoking emotion from the reader. The book is fairly long and full of medical terminology that I had to look up from time to time. It does not take away from the story.

The Genealogist's Guide to Researching Tax Records
Review Date: 10/17/2011
Helpful Score: 1

I've read many genealogy books and this is one of the best ones. Tax records, often overlooked, are one of the best ways to track your ancestor and even be able to determine parentage. The author does a great job explaining how to use tax records.

This is a lighthearted story of a group of friends who want to travel to America to find men that will come back to their village in Mexico to defend them from hooligans. The author seems to get off track every now and again but is able to bring it back in.

Just Like Us: The True Story of Four Mexican Girls Coming of Age in America
Review Date: 10/17/2011

The story of these girls is not redeming. The author is unable to tell the story without bias, and without filtering out the pointless.
