Very detail plot and sub plots. I literally spent a Saturday reading this 700+ page book.

I LOVED this book! It has well formed characters, good vs evil (in many forms) and several intertwined story lines. The next time this author has a book pubished, I will buy it right away. If this is ever made into a movie, I'll be there on opening night too.

I bought the original book when my oldest daughter was born and loved it. She gre up with very little commercial baby food. Now my daughter is expecting and, yes, I'm going to be sending a copy of this book for her to help with the next generation.

I've read all of her books and, frankly, I don't think this is one of her best efforts. She mentions a few of the "old" Jacobsville characters but the plot is waay too stilted.

Sorry to say, I was disappointed. She seemed to follow a canned formula - orphan girl & rich guy who hate each other, small crisis, then realizing they loved each other. I used to keep all DP books but I passed this one one just like I did her last book

I first read this book in the late 1980's when a family member had a life-ending illness. At time it brought me great comfort. Since that time, I have continued to draw from its message. Whenever there is bad, I also see the good that is present. I have also been fortunate to "just happen" to be at a place to give comfort to others. I attribute this book with helping me to realize these opportunities.

I consider this book to be a "must" for people from all faiths, not only those who experience a crisis in their lives but also for those who want to know how to help others. As the years pass, this book seems to become more relevant, not less.
