The first book in this series(Outlander) was wonderful. A good story of history and time travel. Sadly I believe the author ran out of steam in this fourth book of the series.

The different characters that God sends down to play with the protagonist are very good. Very insightful. However, the protagonist is a wee bit full of himself and this takes away from the book. If you can get over this you will enjoy the book.

I loved this book. I can see why it is so popular. A great time travel mystery book that takes place in NYC. If you love NYC ( and doesn't everyone?) you will love this book. After reading this I checked out the sequel from the library.
