Not a Hollywood ending. War and black market intrigue in Vietnam.

Vietnam in 1968; two brothers with different opinions about the war fight for each others survival. True story of Chuck and Tom Hagel and the forces for and against the war. A great read: non fiction.

The good guys and gals win. Growing up and being more self reliant. The initial premise is a little shaky (if you use your adult mind) but could be easily accepted by a middle schooler. Everyone can identify with at least one of the characters. Humor and fun to read.

You can not have murder in Louisiana with political intrigue. A strong female lead, a good police procedural, and a decent mystery. You will wamt to see the characters again.
