I did not think it was laugh out loud as many people had reviewed, but it was definitely entertaining. I enjoyed the book overall and am even planning on lending it to a friend.

I had never watched the movie or really heard what it was about, so throughout the whole book I was trying to piece it together. It was interesting to see how all of the pieces fit. The storyline was intriguing, but the book really didn't keep me very engaged. Parts of it did, but not the book as a whole.

I think that this was, unfortunately, my least favorate Jodi Picoult book. I was able to get through it really quickly, so I was really into it and enjoying it. But there were two big reasons that I was not a big fan:
1) I don't know and I didn't know all that much about Asperger's, so I appreciated the background information on it and the description of symptoms, etc. However, I think it was overkill on the amount of information that I was provided. It felt like every 4 or 5 pages was a description of "this is how Asperger's syndrome is." There were parts of this book where I felt like I was reading a lecture.
2) I HATED the ending. It completely left you hanging. From the last chapter, I was able to gather what might have happened or what Picoult is trying to say could have happened, but that is completely unbelievable. I literally had this awful look on my face when I finished reading it.
Unfortunately, I was hugely disappointed.

After hearing people talk about how Chelsea Handler is so funny and they have laughed out loud reading, I expected some of the same. This book, unfortunately, did not do it. It was entertaining enough. Light reading. I got through it in about 2 days. But laugh out loud? Not so much. Memorable? Not at all.

This book was a little difficult to read because of the violence and timing, but really got you thinking. I ended up even reading the questions to Jodi Picoult in the back. It's really early to be writing about school shootings, so if you're not ready for that, don't read it. But if you are ready, it really helps you to get into the mindset of a shooter, which is disturbing.
