This is a fun story that mixes romance with mystery. It is the 3rd book of a series and I find the characters real. It takes place in the Atlanta area and I lived there for 28 years so it gives me a memorable connection when places become part of the story.

I am enjoying the series in order. The characters have unique strengths and weaknesses. The story line is not complicated but has some degree of suspense. The romances are complicated but entertaining.

Doglover meets mega pet store owner with a troubled past. Good story and filled with cute and humerous doggie moments. At the same time as the plot thickens is dramatic and suspenceful. Very enjoyable read.

This was a difficult book to read. Lots of characters to remember. Sometimes these characters had nicknames as well further confusing the read. Had to make a chart for myself. The story line was good and I began to figure out the who dun-it about halfway thru the book. This book was also reviewed at my book club and got very mixed reviews; only half of twenty women enjoyed.

Vanessa is an agent with the CIA. She loses two assets to an assassin and she does not always follow the CIA rules. She gets blowback from her bosses. However, she has an excellent mind to decipher her enemies. The book is fast paced and has a few twists and turns. It has been said by other reviewers that his book accurately depicts how the CIA operates which is a little unsettling. Good read.

This is the first book of a series. I found this book to be more sophisticated in relationship to another needlecraft series. The thought process to solving the crime was in depth and I very much liked the ending. Sometimes a little deception to catch the murderer adds meaning to getting caught.

I have read the entire series and loved the characters. There has always been some comic relief and recipes that I have tried. This particular mystery was fun to read and as usual has it's last minute reveal finding the murderer makes it a good read.

The book delves into the life of the police officers in New York city or any major city for that matter. As their intent is to catch the people that break the law and keep the general population safe, it sometimes means braking the rules and participating in nefarious activities. Once that begins to happen it is easy to get further and further on the wrong side of the law. It also shows that dealing with drug dealers, racial issues, thieves, and internal politics without any support from management makes the job an impossible task. It makes one realize that this is really happening in our real world not just in the book. Lots of colorful language.

This was Book 3 of a series of murder mysteries and I found it very entertaining, humerous, and an easy read when you are in the mood for something light and fun. The characters are the same in the series and the dog, Jake, always help the solving of the mystery. Definitely a good read for dog lovers and mystery buffs.

This book was an excellent story. So well written and I found it very hard to put down. The story is so powerful and deals with some very heart wrenching events. I felt so concerned for the characters and all the things that were thrown at each of them. A masterpiece.

The story is about two women that love mystery novels. Both very different people that suffer a loss because of corporate crime. It was not a page turner for me although it was an interesting story.

Not a scary monster type story but a very interesting mystery riddled with lots of history and a few friendly monsters and ghosts. Lots of historical characters that at times can be confusing to keep track of but an org chart is provided from time to time to clarify. Enjoyed the method the writer used to combine the history and mystery. Loved the ending the best. Would read more of this writer and can recommend this book as a good story.

Good mystery that moves along quickly. Love the dog involvement and the Andy Carpenter character. Can read his books out of order and still develop a connection to the character. Keeps you guessing to the end. Intend to read more of them.

This book is the first book of a series of murder mysteries that involve a single female parent and an ex-cop dog, Jake. The characters are well formed and the mystery unfolds naturally into a great who dun it with Jake saving the day. Although this book was written over 20 years ago, the main character is modern and bright in her thinking. A thoroughly enjoyable book especially for dog lovers and women.
