I hate to be repetitive , but I must agree with the other reviewers. I learned more about the Civil War & the key figures of that time than I ever knew----and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!! I've toured Gettysburg before, but I plan on returning with a whole new perspective. This well written (Pulitzer winner) novel certainly aroused my curiosity.

I found this a very enjoyable look into true determination. I couldn't put it down.

I enjoyed the book enough to rank it in the top 5 in my mystery-suspense category. I did not, however, find the final chapters as "utterly surprising" as claimed. In fact, I found the ending to be fairly predictable --- but enjoyable enough overall to be able to recommend. (4 stars)

I hope to have my "grown kids" & my grandchildren read this, not only for an introduction to Medgar Evers, but also for an understanding of life in America before they arrived on the scene.

A good read. I definitely will read another book by Kyle Mills.

Not bad, but I didn't think it was up to some other Patterson stories I've read.

I went into this without having read any of the reviews, and had no lofty expectations as I had never read any of D.Lehane's work, though I did see(& enjoy)the Mytic River movie. What a pleasant surprise this was! Definitely a page-turner with well defined characters & plot twists galore. Best read in awhile. Five stars

This is the first T. Hillerman I've read. I thought it was pretty decent, but I've enjoyed some other mystery/suspense novels more.

A great but disturbing story from a great writer

Having read this many, many, many years ago (it may have actually been during the French Revolution),I decided it was time to re-read this one, & I am glad I did. Now "it is a far,far better thing that I do..." introducing Sidney Carton to someone else by making the book available to someone new.

WOW!!! My first Harlan Coben book & it was impossible to put down. I enjoyed it more than anything I have read in quite some time. Treat yourself to a real page-turner. You won't be disappointed!
