I picked up this book by accident with no expectations. I had never heard of the Raid Gauloises. I was completely enthralled with the descriptions of the exotic locales and amazed by the superb athleticism and grit of the team members. It made me want to join an adventure race--but also immensely grateful that no team would ever invite me as a member. These athletes are tough!
