I enjoyed _Micah_. As others say above, it feels more like her former books, with more plot and relationship. Micah, poor guy, gets shortchanged as Anita is feeling extremely angsty and insecure of late.

This is directly opposite to the other book (_Danse Macabre_) which is HUGE but extremely slight on plot. _Danse Macabre_ is mostly sex. Very little plot or story - actually too much sex and not enough on the relationships. Even considering that it's a Anita Blake book and you EXPECT much torrid sex. :D

So if you thought LKH was changing direction with the novella _Micah_, no, not so much. I happened to read _Micah_ after _Danse Macabre_.

An abridged version of the start [of _Danse Macabre_] are in the paranormal anthology _Bite_. Beware if you think you found a new and different story when you find that book; I assumed it was an Anita Blake short story. The excerpt IS good if you'd like some good bits of Nathaniel and Jason, though.
