This is the eighth book in the Charley Davidson series and was a wonderful continuation of this series. These books just keep getting better and better.

This book takes place quite some time after the seventh book ends. Charley and Reyes have been holed up on holy ground at an abandoned convent for 8 months or so; Charley is pretty close to term on her pregnancy.

A lot happens in this book. We learn more about Reyes' birth family and a lot more about Charley and her powers. Charley's friends have become a force in their own right and support her, standing by her side like her own personal army. More is revealed about Lucifer; his army and spies are lurking close to Charley.

Charley goes through some amazing and painful changes in this book. She gains incredibly power and undergoes some insane emotional torment as well.

The book ends on quite a cliffhanger and I am dying to know what happens next. There is a lot of mystery, action, and humor in the story as well. I will say that this book is much more focused on the whole Charley vs. Lucifer storyline than ghostly mysteries. Additionally this book is much more serious than previous ones.

Overall this was an amazing continuation of this series and the story and the characters all have some amazing developments. I am incredibly curious to see what happens in the next book and can't wait to read it. I would recommend to those who enjoy light-hearted urban fantasy mysteries.
