Sabelle Rion and Ice Rykard are like the beauty and the beast until she and Ice must spend some time together. Sabelle Rion is a Privlegded witch with siren blood and is a descendent of Merlin.
Ice is one of the Doomsday Brethern but a Deprived who covets Sabelle from the moment he sees her.
Her brother Bram has still not recovered from the black smoke attack by Mathias, the evil Sorcerer. When the Rion family home is attacked by Mathias's ghouls, all of the Brethren transport to safer places. Sabelle, Ice and an unconscious Bram teleport to one of the council members homes to warn and protect him. They find him and all his people murdered.
Ice begins to pursue Sabelle and finds she is into him also.
To me this is the best book of the series so far. Ice is not the insane brutal man he is thought to be. He is kind and gentle with honor. When Ice kisses Sabelle for the first time, he Calls to her to become his lifemate as he feels the rightness of them. Sabelle is too shocked to answer as her brother Bram expects her to andvance his adgenda with an influential mating.
This couple has the sweetest courtship l have read in a long time.
