Death imitates art. Hard luck, the bottle and a prison stretch ended John Pellam's promising directorial career - and now the ex-Hollywood insider has been exiled to God's County. But while scouting out film locations for a "Bonnie and Clyde" style shoot-'em-up in a dying town called Maddox, Missouri, he gets perilously close to a real life reiverfront rub-out - and finds himself neck-deep in a plot more lurid and deadly than any celluloid scenario.

With the feds on his case and the mob on his tail, Pellam's a player whether he likes it or not - case in a lethal small-town drama of dirty doings and sinsister secrets. And if he doesn't act before the bloody final reel, he'll be written out of the script... permanently.
