Delia Smith is often touted as the British Julia Child, and this book serves to justify the claim. Cuisine in the British Isles was dull, unimaginative and sometimes flat out awful until she started teaching the average home cook how to change it.
This book, part of the Smartcook Collection has a good selection of soups for each season. She stresses the use of fresh ingredients and the value of making food from scratch. The final and most important thing is that following her recipes produces great food. I'm keeping my copy.
